Getting there

There are several options for how you can get to Wollongong for the Australian Public Health Conference 2025.

​​Travel options from Sydney Airport to Wollongong:
 
  • Train: The train is a convenient option, with frequent services from Sydney's Central Station to Wollongong Station, taking approximately 90 minutes.

    • From Sydney Airport, take the airport line to Wolli Creek and transfer to the South Coast Line. 

    • Wollongong has two train stations:

      • Wollongong: 2.2kms to the Novotel, 26-minute walk or a 9-minute taxi

      • North Wollongong: 1.0kms to the Novotel, 12-minute walk or a 4-minute taxi  

    • Consider using Transport NSW to plan your journey. 
       

  • Rideshare: Travel by car will be 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the day and time of travel. See further information on taking a rideshare or pre-booked taxi to or from Sydney Airport on the Sydney Airport website.
     

  • If you are attending the conference with a group, you may wish to arrange a private shuttle or pre-book a Maxi-Taxi, to share the travel costs.

Flying direct to Wollongong's Shellharbour Airport (WOL):

 

Link Airways connects WOL to Melbourne and Brisbane. Flights operate 5 days a week from Wollongong’s Shellharbour Airport:

​

  • From Brisbane to Wollongong: on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday depart Brisbane at 8.30 am and on Sunday at 9.45 am.

  • From Wollongong to Brisbane: on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday depart Wollongong at 5.00 pm and on Sunday at 6.00 pm.
     

  • From Melbourne to Wollongong: on Monday depart Melbourne at 5.10 pm, on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 2.40 pm and on Sunday at 3.55 pm.

  • From Wollongong to Melbourne: on Monday depart Wollongong at 2.40 pm, on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 12.10 pm and on Sunday at 1.25 pm.
